A detailed knowledge of computer hardware and software.
I have built and upgraded my own PC as well as aiding friends, relatives and colleagues with basic PC use.
Proficient in a range of software packages which include :

A regular user of the Internet and E-mail. I have designed and written a web site.
Good communication skills developed through my work, listening to the requirements and comments of the client, the contractor, the general public and other members of the team, putting forward my own views and suggestions.
Ability to work as part of a group developed throughout my time at university with the aid of several group projects. I regularly work as part of a team with other engineers, technicians and project mangers.
Strong analytical and diagnostic skills developed during the degree course and through my hobbies has enabled me to analyse problems, evaluate findings and develop solutions to determine the best course of action.
Developed solutions to guitar neck warping and recommended manufacturing and handling/storage changes to reduce levels of scrap. This formed the basis of my final year dissertation.
Regularly analyse and repair electrical and mechanical faults on items such as computers, cars and bicycles. Design and make items to perform specific tasks such as modifications and fittings for my bike.
I provide CAD draughtsman services to clients in engineering and architectural businesses on a freelance basis. In February 2006, I changed from sole trader status and formed the limited company. Clients include Waterman Civils, Feakes Hanlon Architects and Cranton Electrical Company.
Produced drawings for a wide range of civil and structural engineering projects, including residential developments, student accommodation buildings and quarries.
I worked within the highways team for local authority clients producing drawings and layouts for road schemes using AutoCAD, AutoSign, and AutoTrack. I managed small projects such as the Anti Skid Surfacing Contract on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. Produced TM drawings, liaised with client and contractor, booked road space, conducted site inspections and approved payments.
I also worked for the architectural department for eight months producing 2D plans and elevations as well as building services (electrical and mechanical) layouts using AutoCAD.
I produced 2D architectural CAD drawings from surveys of retail outlets.
I taught 2D AutoCAD in LT 95 to degree students studying surveying.
Vacation work during my degree course which involved assembly, re-manufacture, testing and packaging of electronic audio equipment.
City and Guilds and BTEC in CAD. 2D, 3D wire-frame, solid and surface modelling using AutoCAD as well as animation using 3D Studio Max.
B.Eng. (Honours) Manufacturing Engineering. Degree result 2:2.
Main modules covered: Materials, Manufacturing processes, CAD/CAM, Business, Mechanical Engineering design.
Final year project: The CNC production of guitar necks. This involved analysing a production problem, researching and evaluating options then recommending solutions. This project drew on my communication, analytical, problem solving and researching skills.
HND Manufacturing Engineering.
Final year project: The manufacture of a 10 cc model aero engine. A year long team project involving the group working together to solve problems, formulate a production plan, and evaluate the end product. This enhanced my group working skills: communicating with other people, making my contribution and co-ordinating activities within the group.
I enjoy playing the guitar and have attended group lessons which involved learning with other musicians and discussing musical technique. I have made two guitars which has improved my use of tools and wood working skills as well as applying my attention to detail to produce visually attractive instruments.
I have an interest in cycling which keeps me fit and applies my
engineering skills to maintain my bike.
I am a fan of motor sport, spectating at tracks, taking part in
motor sport events and servicing for other competitors. I am
completing a kit car and preparing it for an IVA test enabling it to
be used on the road.
I have been part of a team that has built robots and other machines for the television series Robot Wars and Techno Games, regularly using machine tools in my home workshop to create working parts.
I extensively renovated my house, undertaking a variety of DIY tasks and learning new skills.
